So HylaFax and IaxModem is more preferred than using rxfax/txfax ?

I think that you mean to say "HylaFAX and IAXmodem  or  txfax/rxfax" ...
because spandsp is but a DSP/DCE library, and it cannot work alone, and
iaxmodem uses spandsp.
