[asterisk-users] Problem making chanskype work in Asterisk 1.4.11 in Fedora 7

Hi,

I installed chanskype in Asterisk 1.4.11 in Fedora 7 as follows:

a) obtained chanskype tar ball from www.timhunt.net
b) tar zxpvf chanskype-trixbox.tgz
c) cd chanskype.trixbox
d) ./install.sh
e) ./makeaccount.sh 1
f) make vncserevr autostart using ntsysv
g) install chanskype-1.2.11
h) Add in /home/skype1/.bash_profile "export PATH=/sbin/:/usr/sbin/:$PATH
i) Change channels in /etc/asterisk/skype.conf to 1

I used vncviewer to vnc into the machine and the Skype phone GUI
appears when I started Asterisk. I entered my username and password
and was able to log into the Skype network.

"skype status" in Asterisk showed

DEV USER CALL# LASTFR LASTCS CONNST USERST LASTDUR LK
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
skype1 0 0 0 0 0 0 N*
Licensed channels: 0

But when I tried to make a call using the skype channel,

exten => 123,1,Dial(Skype/any/123)

Asterisk complained that there is no such "any" device and I cannot
make any call out using the skype channel. It seems that chanskype has
problem communicating to the Skype phone.

Can someone help me on this ?

Thank you.

Regards,
John
